Types of Veneers we provide for you!

Warmest greeting from Imperial Dental Specialist Centre !

What is veneer?

Veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect the tooth's surface from damage. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer: composite and dental porcelain. A composite veneer may be directly placed (built-up in the mouth), or indirectly fabricated by a dental technician in a dental lab, and later bonded to the tooth, while a porcelain veneer may only be indirectly fabricated.

1. Porcelain EMAX veneer

Porcelain veneer therapy involves removal of a thin approximately finger nail thickness layer of the tooth’s enamel followed by the bonding of a thin sculpted porcelain veneer. This procedure is used when there are more severe discoloration, malformation or misalignment of teeth.

Advantages of porcelain veneers are their extreme resistance to stain and chipping as compared to composite veneers. Porcelain Veneers are durable, last 12-25 years and rarely require maintenance

2. Nano Composite veneer

With composite veneers the resin is applied in layers to the tooth and sculpted directly in the mouth to achieve the desired esthetic which patient is looking for. Composite veneers are used in situations in which there is chipping or discoloration of natural teeth. They are also used where there are minor misalignments of teeth to give teeth the appearance of more aligned teeth.

The greatest advantage of composite veneers is that it is an additive process that is reversible and can be removed and replaced as needed. Beautiful natural esthetics can be achieved in the right hands. Composite veneer therapy is really an art!

Composite resin veneers can be applied in one day, last 4 - 8 years, and require maintenance (they chip).

Both types of veneers can be used for a variety of esthetic situations and results can be amazing. Both approaches should begin with a thorough Cosmetic Analysis to access the patients desires and needs. We will advise you clinically which type of material suits you.Kindly give us a call +60322845529 or +60321065449 or email us for appointment booking!
